NHL Game Summary - Calgary at NY Rangers

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Benoit Pouliot recorded the winner in the seventh round of the shootout, as the New York Rangers put an end to a pair of losing streaks by edging Calgary, 4-3, at Madison Square Garden.

Pouliot began the deciding round by using several stick fakes to pull Karri Ramo out of position, and, as he slid to the left post, directed the puck inside the right pipe.

Henrik Lundqvist sealed the win by stopping Mikael Backlund.

Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan and Carl Hagelin scored in regulation for the Rangers, who had dropped all four of its home dates on a season-high nine-game residency and had lost five straight in Manhattan.

Lundqvist picked up the victory thanks to 18 stops.

Backlund, Curtis Glencross and Sean Monahan lit the lamp for the Flames, who had won two in a row, both beyond regulation, prior to Sunday's setback.

Ramo made 29 saves in defeat.
