 in  net  to lead the  Carolina Hurricanes  to a 1-0  victory over the New York
 Islanders at PNC Arena.

 Peters  earned his first shutout and second win of the season since taking the
 place of injured starter Cam Ward.

    <p>
 The  lone  goal of the  game came  early in the  first period when Ron Hainsey
 took a shot from the point before Radek Dvorak deflected it past Kevin Poulin.
