NHL Game Summary - Anaheim at NY Rangers

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Frederik Andersen stopped 32 shots on Monday to stake the Anaheim Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers.

Andersen improved to 4-0-0 over his first four starts while Corey Perry and Kyle Palmieri each scored for the Ducks, who went 5-2-1 on an eight-game road trip.

Michael Del Zotto had the lone goal of the game for the Rangers, who had a three-game winning streak stopped. Henrik Lundqvist gave up both goals on 25 shots in the loss.

Anaheim jumped on top at 2:29 of the first period as Dustin Penner sent a turnaround shot on net from the left circle that Lundqvist stopped, but Perry was there to put home the rebound for his ninth of the season.

The Ducks made it a 2-0 game at 9:09 of the first as a turnover in the neutral zone was picked up by Francois Beauchemin, who skated down the right wing and backhanded a pass to the slot where Palmieri wristed it home for his fourth of the year.

New York finally got on the board with 1:24 to play in the second, as a wraparound from Ryan Callahan at the left side was stopped, but the rebound came out front and Del Zotto snapped it home for his first of the season.

Andersen made the lead hold up in the final frame, stopping all eight shots he faced to help the team end the successful road trip.
