NHL Game Summary - Dallas at Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Seguin notched a goal and an assist to help make Dallas head coach Lindy Ruff's return to Buffalo a successful one, as the Stars edged the Sabres, 4-3, on Monday at First Niagara Center.

Ruff served as head coach of the Sabres from 1997-2013, making him the longest tenured coach in franchise history. That run ended, however, when Ruff was fired on Feb. 20 of last season and replaced with Ron Rolston.

Ruff's new squad entered Monday's meeting having lost five of their last seven games, but got goals from Jamie Benn, Alex Goligoski and Vernon Fiddler to get back in the win column.

Kari Lehtonen backstopped the victory with 22 saves.

Matt Moulson potted a pair of goals in his debut with the Sabres, who acquired the 29-year-old forward, along with a pair of draft picks, from the New York Islanders on Sunday in exchange for forward Thomas Vanek.

Steve Ott also lit the lamp and Ryan Miller allowed all four goals on 29 shots for Buffalo, which fell to 0-7-1 at home this season.
