Terrell Owens: Cris Carter 'begged' his way into Hall of Fame

There still doesn't appear to be any sort of love lost between Terrell Owens and Cris Carter.

Owens spoke of the criticism he's received from Carter in an appearance on ESPN's "Mike and Mike" on Wednesday, also throwing some shade at the way in which he believes Carter earned himself a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"(Cris Carter) is a guy that’s criticized me plenty of times, for anything," Owens said, according to SI.com. "For me, that was something that motivated me ... For somebody like that, for Cris Carter to come out and say something like that, I just felt like it was disrespectful. And so now, when you look at where I am statistically, I've surpassed him. And from what I've heard, from a lot of guys, he begged his way into the Hall of Fame."

Shortly after finding out that he'd been passed over for football's highest honor in his first year of eligibility, Owens shared a more specific example of Carter's criticism over the weekend.

After a stellar 15-year career, Owens sits among the NFL's all-time leaders in receptions (6th), receiving yards (2nd), and touchdown catches (3rd).

It's certainly only a matter of time before he's rewarded with a bust in Canton and it would be no surprise to see him selected as part of the 2017 class ahead of next year's Super Bowl.
