Matt Forte implies he'd take discount to play for contender

Matt Forte's tenure with the Chicago Bears appears to be over and the veteran running back could be heading to one of the league's premier teams if he gets his wish.

Forte is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this spring and the Bears did not offer him a contract extension at season's end. With Jeremy Langford in line to become the team's feature back for years to come, Forte is approaching his impending free agency with a realistic outlook.

Although Forte could end up being the best running back on the market, he implied that he'd take less money to join a Super Bowl contender.

"It's not even about the money," Forte said on NFL Network's "Super Bowl Live". "I want to be in the Super Bowls."

Forte is 30, the age where most running backs begin to significantly decline. Regardless, Forte's pedigree will likely field him plenty of suitors.
