Devonta Freeman appears unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a concussion last week.

The Atlanta Falcons running back will sit out his second consecutive practice Wednesday, and the team is currently preparing as if he won't be in the lineup on game day, head coach Dan Quinn announced.

Freeman will still have a few days to work through the concussion protocol, but the target for his return will presumably instead become next week's division matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Third-round rookie Tevin Coleman, who's recorded 231 rushing yards in eight games, would step into the lead backfield role until Freeman is able to make his healthy return.
