The Carolina Panthers waived defensive end Wes Horton on Saturday, clearing a roster spot for practice squad offensive tackle David Foucault.

Horton, a 2013 undrafted free agent, started 15 games for the Panthers last season in place of Greg Hardy, tallying three sacks and two forced fumbles.

With Amini Silatolu ruled out for Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, adding Foucault provides Carolina with some much-needed depth on the offensive front.

Foucault appeared in five games and made one start during his first year with the club in 2014.
