Rams HC Fisher expects Gurley to see more action Sunday vs. Cardinals

St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley had an underwhelming debut for the team in Week 3, playing just 14 snaps and rushing for nine yards on six carries.

Head coach Jeff Fisher expects him to have a much more significant role this week against the Arizona Cardinals.

"I think he played 14 snaps," said Fisher to reporters Friday. "I would expect him to play a lot more this week."

"He very well could've been six carries for 79 yards."

The Rams have eased Gurley into the lineup, as the running back is still returning to health after suffering an ACL injury in his final season in college.

He should still see his carries limited with Tre Mason in the backfield, but it shouldn't be long until he becomes the lead back the Rams envisioned when they drafted him in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
