Colts acquire Sio Moore from Raiders for 2016 late-round pick

The Indianapolis Colts acquired linebacker Sio Moore from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a 2016 late-round draft pick, the team announced Friday night.

Although the team didn't confirm which round the Raiders would select in, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Oakland received a sixth-round selection.

Moore confirmed earlier Friday on Twitter that he was no longer part of the Raiders.

The Colts' new acquisition can be used at either inside or outside linebacker, playing 729 defensive snaps primarily at weak-side linebacker last year.

Moore recorded 90 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble in 11 games last season. Oakland selected him in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Connecticut.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio indicated the writing could be on the wall in late August, saying Moore was competing to become a role player despite his strong performance in 2014.
