Report: Packers' Randall Cobb diagnosed with minor AC joint sprain

Exhale, Green Bay Packers fans.

The diagnosis is in for wide receiver Randall Cobb and it's a positive one: A minor AC joint sprain.

It could have been much worse, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport notes, adding that Cobb's status for Week 1 remains in question.

Cobb suffered the injury when he fell hard on his shoulder in Saturday's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. As he headed to the locker room, Packers fans across the nation had flashbacks to Jordy Nelson's season-ending injury only a week ago.

AC joint sprains come in varying grades of severity. Cobb's isn't yet known, but he'll likely be on the field if he is ultimately diagnosed with a Grade 1 or 2 sprain. A Grade 3 sprain could force him to miss some regular-season action, but an extended absence appears very unlikely.
