Eagles' Travis Long tears ACL for 2nd time in as many seasons

Howard Smith / USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Travis Long will be lost for the season after suffering a torn ACL in practice Monday. Long missed all of 2014 after tearing the ACL in the same knee during last year's preseason.

The 24-year-old joined the Eagles in 2013 as an undrafted free agent and was expected to compete for playing time as a pass-rusher behind Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham.

Marcus Smith, who barely played in 2014 as a rookie, should now find his way into the rotation more regularly.
