Report: Free-agent receiver Ace Sanders suspended 10 games for substance abuse violation

Ace Sanders may have a difficult time finding a contract this season.

The free-agent receiver has been suspended 10 games, according to Field Yates of ESPN. Sanders was suspended four games last year while playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars for a substance abuse violation; Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that this ban is for the same reason.

Jacksonville released him last month.

Sanders had an impressive rookie campaign with the Jags in 2013, catching 51 passes. However, last season he hauled in just six and couldn't earn playing time due to the team's newfound depth at the position.

At 23, Sanders still has the talent to latch on with another team if he proves his off-field issues are behind him. But that doesn't figure to happen in 2015, with him missing more than half the season.
