Report: Steelers' Martavis Bryant to undergo elbow procedure; could be out 10 days

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant will undergo a minor procedure to treat an elbow infection and is expected to be out for 10 days, according to Ross Jones of FOX Sports.

It looks like Bryant will miss the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 9, but should be healthy enough to return for the Steelers' final preseason games. Markus Wheaton will likely see increased reps with Bryant out.

The Steelers aren't wanting for depth, with Darrius Heyward-Bey and rookie Sammie Coates waiting to step up in case of further injury.

Bryant, a second-year pro out of Clemson, is coming off an excellent rookie campaign in which he caught eight touchdowns on 26 receptions. He's expected to start opposite Antonio Brown when the regular season begins.
