Redskins' Bashaud Breeland expected to miss 4-6 weeks with MCL injury

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

Washington Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland was carted off the practice field Friday after suffering a strained MCL.

Although the injury appears significant, it looks like it won't end Breeland's season, with head coach Jay Gruden anticipating a timetable of four-to-six weeks for the Clemson product to make his return.

The second-year player was also suspended one game for a substance abuse violation Friday morning.

Breeland started 15 games last season as a rookie, totaling 66 tackles and two interceptions.
