NFLPA made Brady settlement offer of fine, no suspension; NFL didn't respond

The NFLPA tried to settle New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's suspension dispute with the NFL by offering that Brady would accept a fine in exchange for the league wiping out his four-game suspension.

The NFL didn't respond to the offer.

NFLPA assistant executive director George Atallah made the revelation during an interview on the "Dan Patrick Show" on Thursday.

Multiple reports suggest the NFL and players' union were never close to a settlement. This certainly lend credence to those reports.

The NFL, of course, announced Brady's four-game ban will be upheld. The NFLPA promptly filed suit.
