Report: Cowboys have no plans to sign Ray Rice or Chris Johnson

Thomas Campbell-US PRESSWIRE

Despite releasing Ryan Williams on Tuesday, it doesn't looks like the Dallas Cowboys will be adding any new faces to their running back group - for the time being, at least.

The Cowboys don't plan on making a run at free-agent running backs Ray Rice or Chris Johnson, and are instead willing to wait and see how their current players perform, according to Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

That leaves Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden, and Lance Dunbar as the top three backs, with Lache Seastrunk and rookie Gus Johnson battling it out behind them. Of course, that could change once training camp gets underway.

One source told Davison, "Never know what will happen in a couple weeks."
