New York Jets +750 +800 +1000

Gino Bottero: There have been few more reliable options on the betting board than backing the Patriots to win the AFC East. That play has hit in 11 of the past 12 seasons. But lost in the Tom Brady shenanigans is the major personnel hit New England's defense took during the offseason. The Dolphins have been poised to take the Patriots' crown for some time now, and the addition of Ndamukong Suh should finally push them over the hump. Dolphins +400 (Bovada)

Caitlyn Holroyd: As long as Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are in charge, it's tough to bet against the Patriots in the AFC East. They've won 12 of the last 14 division crowns, and while Brady's suspension could complicate matters, it's difficult to imagine them going worse than 2-2 in their first four games, especially with a healthy Rob Gronkowski to start the season. Patriots -150 (Bovada)

David P. Woods: Take away the quarterbacks and the Jets have the best roster in the AFC East - and the Patriots are a distant fourth. Geno Smith finished 2014 strong, and it's too early to rule out the possibility that he's actually the second-best passer in the division - especially now that he's in an offensive system well-suited to his strengths. The Jets' long odds are too juicy to pass up. Jets +1000 (SuperBook)
