After joining the Miami Dolphins as this year's top free-agent prize, all indications continue to show that Ndamukong Suh has been everything the team could have hoped for.

Asked about his new teammate this week, linebacker Jelani Jenkins expressed excitement about the impact Suh will have on the rest of the Dolphins' defense heading into the 2015 campaign.

"Just overall, he's an animal," Jenkins said, according to the team's official website. "Besides his athletic ability and just being able to take on double teams and free everybody else up, he's got swag, he's a presence.

"People are going to look out for him and when they’re looking out for him, they’re not looking out for other people. Just his whole demeanor and what it brings to the defense, we’re going to be tough to run against, pass against and we’re going to have a whole attitude to us."

While there are countless examples of star players fading away soon after being handed lucrative contracts on the open market, Suh's sheer dominance over the course of his time in Detroit makes it rather unlikely that he'll end up following a similar path.

At 28 years old and still in the prime of his playing career, he can not only be expected to produce at an All-Pro level similar to that of his first five NFL seasons, but to have a positive impact on those around him in the process.

Suh joining Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon has given the Dolphins one of the NFL's most talented defensive lines and – in a league that's becoming increasingly centered around the passing game – the unit will certainly play a significant role in the Dolphins' chances of reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
