Report: Colts, Dolphins expected to make serious push for Ndamukong Suh

He's not officially a free agent yet, but the potential suitors are already circling.

The Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts are expected to make a strong push for Ndamukong Suh when the free-agent negotiating window opens on Saturday, according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.

Getlin also notes that a contract for Suh could contain more than $60 million of guaranteed money. That would exceed J.J. Watt's recent deal that had a reported guaranteed $51.8 million and make him the highest-paid defensive player in the league, something Suh reportedly wants

Both teams would be a good fit for Suh and should he land with the Colts, Indy would immediately become serious title contenders. It was evident in the playoffs that Andrew Luck and company need an impact defender to bring more balance to the squad.

One detail, though, could give the Dolphins the edge in negotiations. As Getlin points out, there is no state income tax in Florida, meaning Suh could retain more of his salary there.

Still, no one other than the Detroit Lions can sign him until March 10. If Detroit has any hope of keeping him, then its final pitch to Suh sounds like it better be a big one.
