Seahawks' Bobby Wagner on Rob Gronkowski: 'I wouldn't call him a problem'

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks star linebacker Bobby Wagner isn't too concerned about matching up against New England Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Seattle's slot cornerback Jeremy Lane said Thursday that he didn't think Gronkowski was that good, prompting Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll to dismiss his remarks.

Wagner has a little more clout than Lane as a Pro Bowler, but it's probably unwise to give Gronkowski more fuel heading into Super Bowl XLIX.

"I wouldn't call him a problem," Wagner said when asked about the difficulties Gronkowski would present to the Seahawks' defense.

The Seahawks aren't hesitant to voice their opinion, with Richard Sherman calling out Roger Goodell and Patriots owner Robert Kraft's close relationship Sunday.

Seattle has a chance to become the first team to repeat as champions since the Patriots did in 2003-2004, and Gronkowski is seeking the first Super Bowl ring of his career.
