Report: Eagles' Nick Foles could be out longer than expected

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was originally supposed to be sidelined six-to-eight weeks with a broken collarbone, but that could be wishful thinking.

It may take Foles longer to return to the field as his fracture has to be "more than" healed to absorb contact, according to Jeff McLane of philly.com.

Foles has been throwing in practice but has yet to have a follow-up exam to see how the bone is healing.

"I know he's working extremely hard from a rehab standpoint," head coach Chip Kelly said, "But the whole decision will be made based upon what the bone is, and they'll get that X-rayed at some point in time."

At one point it appeared like the Eagles weren't going to miss Foles, but backup quarterback Mark Sanchez has come back down to earth after a strong opening performance, turning the ball over eight times in four games.
