Ravens' Justin Forsett seeking contract extension in off-season

Baltimore Ravens running back Justin Forsett has been one of the breakout players of the season, and is seeking a contract extension in the off-season.

Forsett is currently on a one-year, $730,000 contract that expires after the end of the year.

The 29-year-old has rushed for 903 yards and seven touchdowns after taking over as the Ravens' starting running back.

Forsett emerged as the starter after Ray Rice was suspended and released after a video was released to the public that detailed his domestic assault on his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer.

"I would love to sign here. I've been waiting my whole career to find a home somewhere to not have to move every offseason. So, that would be nice," Forsett said to The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson.

"I'm blessed with a great offensive line. They do a lot of the work up front. It's their job to get me from A to C and for me to get from C to Z. I think we work very well together."

Forsett had never topped his rookie total of 619 yards prior to this season, and is running for a career-best 5.8 yards per carry. The seventh-year pro is on pace for 1,313 yards this season.
