Report: Chargers' Verrett to see specialist about injured shoulder

San Diego Chargers rookie cornerback Jason Verrett is set to visit a specialist next week in order to assess the severity of his shoulder injury, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Verrett suffered the injury during Thursday night's loss to the Denver Broncos.
The first rounder was questionable heading into the game with shoulder issues, leading many to question the Chargers' decision to have him suit up in the first place.
"If he wasn't ready to go, we wouldn't have put him out there," head coach Mike McCoy said, according to U-T San Diego's Michael Gehlken on Friday.
In five games this season, Verrett has 19 combined tackles and an interception.
