Report: No truth to rumor Titans are shopping Justin Hunter

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter is off to a rough start in his second season as a pro, but his team has no plans to give up on him this early in his career.

The Tennessean reports there is no truth to rumors that the Titans are shopping Hunter on the trade market.

One particularly juicy rumor - likely started on Twitter - has Hunter moving to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a running back.

Such a deal would make very little sense for the Titans. The team traded up to select Hunter with the 34th pick in last year's draft, knowing he's a raw talent with a propensity to drop passes and for mental lapses.

Hunter has yet to take a leap in his second season, and may even have regressed in some areas, but the Titans are in it for the long haul with him.

Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said this week he will simplify the team's offense moving forward. Many saw that as a clear sign the Titans believe they've put too much on Hunter's plate.
