Patriots' defensive players fuming after loss to Chiefs on Monday
The New England Patriots suffered one of their worst defeats in the Bill Belichick era.
After being routed 41-14 Monday by the Kansas City Chiefs, many Patriots players were angry with the outcome.
"They beat us like we stole something," Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork told Tom Curran of CSNNE.com.
New England never settled into a rhythm and allowed 303 yards in the first half, the first time a Belichick-coached Patriots team allowed more than 300 in the opening two quarters.
"This is probably the most embarrassing game I've been a part of," Patriots safety Devin McCourty told Kevin Duffy of MassLive.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was less emphatic when asked if there was a quarterback controversy after Jimmy Garoppolo took over for Tom Brady in the fourth quarter.
The Patriots will have to get better soon, as they square off against the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.
