Every gameday during the regular season, theScore's fantasy editors recap the most important news and notes from around the league.

Charles's 3 Touchdowns Power Chiefs

Jamaal Charles certainly didn't look like a running back nursing a high-ankle sprain. He posted three touchdowns and ran for 92 yards on the night, while showing a lot of burst on his carries.

Quarterback Alex Smith was also on point Monday, throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns on 20-of-26 passing. Smith seems to be really building a connection with tight end Travis Kelce, who could end up being a difference maker for this offense.

Kelce's athletic ability can create mismatches all over the field and he proved it Monday, posting eight catches for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Other Notable Fantasy Lines

Knile Davis, RB, Chiefs
16 carries for 107 yards, 1 catch for 12 yards
The Chiefs still made a conscious effort to get Davis the ball, even though Charles was back.

Dwayne Bowe, WR, Chiefs
5 catches for 81 yards
Smith seems to really trust Bowe and isn't afraid to throw his way even if he is covered.

Tom Brady, QB, Patriots
14-of-23 for 159 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs
Brady looked out of sorts against the Chiefs. He just doesn't have enough weapons around him right now.

Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots
2 catches for 31 yards, 1 TD
A quiet night but he still found the end zone, at least.

Stevan Ridley, RB, Patriots
5 carries for 28 yards
The Patriots were behind so early they had to abandon the run game. At least Ridley didn't fumble.

Danny Amendola, WR, Patriots
0 catches for 0 yards
He hasn't had a catch since Week 1.

Injury Ward

Donnie Avery, WR, Chiefs
Avery left with a groin injury and did not return. If he's out for a while, it means increased targets for Bowe and Kelce, with maybe a few more for A.J. Jenkins as well.

Waiver Wire

Brandon LaFell, WR, Patriots
LaFell was the only Patriot to do anything substantial Monday, posting 119 yards and a touchdown on six catches. New England deactivated receivers Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins, so it's clear they have confidence in LaFell.
