Rams head coach Fisher says Sam Bradford is 'way ahead of schedule' on ACL recovery

St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford's 2013 campaign came to a disappointing end in October after he tore his ACL. Bradford is now rehabbing the injury and Rams head coach Jeff Fisher is impressed with the progress he's made.

“You’re not gonna hear a head coach say he has a player on his team that’s not ahead of schedule coming off an ACL," Fisher told the St. Louis Post Dispatch. "Everybody says they’re all ahead of schedule. But he is realistically way ahead of schedule. He’s working hard."

Fisher also added Bradford is now taking on more of a leadership role with the team after four years in the NFL.

"Since ‘Jack’ (Steven Jackson) left, it’s really pretty much become his locker room from a leadership standpoint, at least on the offensive side of the ball. And he’s continuing with that as he rehabs.”

Bradford's numbers have been largely mediocre since he entered the league and with rumors the Rams are considering drafting a pivot in May, 2014 could be a make or break year for the Oklahoma product.
