CBS hires former Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez as football analyst for 2014

Despite his own uncertainty regarding the decision of retirement, it appears that Tony Gonzalez is ready to move on from playing football.

CBS announced Tuesday that the 14-time Pro Bowler will join The NFL Today as an analyst beginning in 2014.

"Having just stepped off the playing field, Tony brings a fresh and insightful perspective," said CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus. "As a future Hall of Famer, we are excited for him to share his knowledge, experiences and opinions with our viewers. Tony was one of the most respected and hardworking players in the NFL and a tremendous teammate."

The 37-year-old played the last 17 seasons in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs. He currently is the league's all-time leader in yards (15,127) and touchdowns (111) by a tight end.

CBS parted ways with two analysts in order to add Gonzalez to its roster.
