Report: Results of an offseason neck exam could impact Peyton Manning's future

Peyton Manning referenced earlier in the week that the light was at the end of the tunnel as far as his career is concerned, and an ESPN report Sunday morning may have shed some light on the situation.

Chris Mortensen reported Manning's future could hinge on an offseason exam on his surgically repaired neck. The exam will take place in March and is required as part of Manning's contract, according to sources.

Sources are saying if the tests reveal Manning's neck is stable then he will return for another year in 2014, but if not he will have a difficult decision to make about his future.

It would be hard to imagine Manning retiring after throwing for an NFL record 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns in 2013.
