Draymond Green rips Raiders' decision to move to Vegas

Put a microphone in front of Draymond Green, and he'll give you his opinion on anything. On Tuesday, that meant the Oakland Raiders' decision to move to Las Vegas for the 2019 NFL season.

"I feel bad for the city of Oakland, man," Green said after the Golden State Warriors' win over the Houston Rockets, per ESPN's Tim MacMahon and Marc J. Spears. "I don't even know how that's going to work, honestly, with a football team moving to Las Vegas."

Green's Warriors are leaving Oakland as well, albeit just across the bay to San Francisco in 2019. But given the Raiders' storied history and die-hard fan base, Green feels the football team's move is a mistake.

"That's like moving the Dallas Cowboys or like moving the (Green Bay) Packers. Like, moving the Raiders?" Green said. "You can move a lot of teams. Ain't many fan bases like the Raiders' fan base. It's like moving the Boston Celtics from Boston or the Lakers from L.A. Like, you just don't move certain franchises with the fan base that they have. It's one thing if you're moving from Oakland to Fremont or something, but to Las Vegas?"

Perhaps he's too young to remember, but the Raiders have moved twice before as it is - from Oakland to Los Angeles in 1982, and back to Oakland in 1995. Thus, the club is primed to become the first major professional sports team to leave the same city twice.

So while NBA players and fellow millionaires tend to enjoy Vegas, don't expect Green to be checking out any NFL games in the new stadium off the strip.

"I wouldn't attend a game," he said. "I won't attend a game, and I'm not a die-hard Raiders fan, but I do support the city of Oakland."
