The Buffalo Bills announced on Thursday that Rick Dennison will be their new offensive coordinator.

Dennison spent the past two seasons with the Denver Broncos as their offensive coordinator. He also held the same role with the team from 2006-08 and was the offensive coordinator of the Houston Texans from 2010-13.

It was previously reported the Bills had been targeting Carolina Panthers quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey, former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Greg Olson, and Kansas City Chiefs co-offensive coordinator Brad Childress for the role.

Dennison joins a staff led by new Bills head coach Sean McDermott that also includes Leslie Frazier as the defensive coordinator.

The Broncos' offense was ranked 27th this season. The unit placed 16th the year prior, when Denver won the Super Bowl.

Dennison also holds ties to Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor. He was the Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach in 2014. Taylor backed up Joe Flacco that season.

Albert Breer of TheMMQB writes that the Broncos tried to reunite Taylor with Dennison in 2015.
