Patriots release Nate Washington

The New England Patriots released wide receiver Nate Washington on Wednesday.

Washington signed with the Patriots on March 24 after spending last season with the Houston Texans. The 32-year-old caught 47 passes for 658 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games in 2015.

During his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington won two Super Bowls.
