The New England Patriots will open their training camp with several key members of their starting offense physically unable to perform.

Receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, running back Dion Lewis, tight end Clay Harbor, and offensive linemen Tre' Jackson and Sebastian Vollmer have all been placed on the PUP list, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Players placed on the PUP list during the preseason can come on or off at any time, essentially meaning the listed players are not ready to practice as of today. If they remain on the list after the regular season begins, they must wait at least six weeks to come off.

Edelman is recovering from foot surgery that could keep him out of camp for a while, but is expected for the season's start. Amendola also underwent offseason surgery for minor issues in his knee and ankle. Lewis tore his left ACL in November and is expected to be ready Week 1. All three were contributing starters when healthy last season.
