Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dan Skuta was arrested last week in Orlando on misdemeanor battery charges and released on bail, reports Brent Martineau of CBS47/FOX30.

The Orlando Police Department says a woman accused Skuta of hitting her friend after she refused to give him her phone number.

The victim told an officer that Skuta pushed her face into a glass window with an open hand after an argument. Deputies said the woman had no visible injuries and refused medical treatment.

Police identified Skuta and had him sit on a sidewalk. He was described as having bloodshot eyes and alcohol on his breath. He was held on a $500 bond and made bail early the following morning.

The team released a statement Monday acknowledging the arrest.

The Jaguars are aware of the situation involving linebacker Dan Skuta and are currently gathering more information. The team has been in constant communication with Dan through this process in its entirety. No further comment can be made at this time.

The 30-year-old linebacker spent the 2015 season with the Jaguars, starting eight games and recording a career-high 40 tackles. He has also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers in his seven NFL seasons.
