Broncos' Sanders says he's unconcerned with new contract

Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is trying to block out distractions while in the midst of contract negotiations.

Both parties are trying to reach a new deal ahead of the 2016 season, and Sanders stated earlier this month that he wants to remain with the Broncos for the rest of his career.

Sanders will earn $5.6 million in the final year of his existing contract.

Ahead of training camp, Sanders says he's unperturbed by the ongoing developments.

"I don't think it weighs on me," Sanders to Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post. "I think it weighs on other people and then they talk about [it] and it's like, 'All right, you're trying to put the weight on me.' If I could just keep my ears closed and not listen to the noise, I wouldn't even know this is a contract year."

After posting two consecutive 1,100-yard plus seasons and helping the Broncos to a Super Bowl 50 victory, general manager John Elway will be hard pressed to come up with an agreeable figure before the season commences.
