Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is still one of the most controversial figures around the NFL.

His overly-public domestic-violence incident sparked one of the darker eras in the league's recent history and saw his career come to an abrupt ending.

While the Ravens haven't given Rice another shot to make their team, they have stayed close with their former Pro Bowler and invited the 29-year-old to speak with their rookies on Wednesday.

According to a statement released via the team's Twitter account, Rice was a part of the Ravens' player engagement program designed to review and teach life management and life lessons to rookies. The former running back "delivered an important message that included his story, both the good and the bad" and "clearly had the attention of (Ravens') rookies."
