The Seattle Seahawks officially placed running back Marshawn Lynch on the reserve/retired list Thursday.

Lynch announced his intention to retire during Super Bowl 50, and the Seahawks stated on multiple occasions that the star running back is stepping away from the game.

The 30-year-old compiled four consecutive 1,200-yard seasons from 2011-2014, becoming one of the most dominant running backs of his era. He suffered several injuries in his final campaign, though, rushing for 417 yards and three touchdowns in seven games.

Lynch was known for his bruising style of play, leading the NFL with an astronomical 88 broken tackles in 2014, according to Football Outsiders.

As a result of his retirement, the Seahawks promised that no members of the rookie class would be permitted to wear his No. 24.
