Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez reportedly won't acquiesce to the three-game suspension he received Tuesday for his role in Sunday's benches-clearing brawl with the Pirates, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

As such, the 28-year-old center fielder will hit leadoff for the Brewers on Tuesday for the second installment of a three-game series with the Padres at Miller Park.

Brewers catcher Martin Maldonado, meanwhile, who punched Pirates outfielder Travis Snider in the eye during Sunday's fracas, won't appeal the five-game suspension he received, the longest ban issued to those involved.
