Real Madrid continue their preparations ahead of Wednesday's mouth-watering Champions League semifinal clash against Bayern Munich, and received some encouraging news with regards to the health of their biggest star.

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to training Friday, which would seem to be a good indication that he is on course for a return to the lineup in midweek.

The Portuguese winger has been felled by hamstring and knee issues in recent weeks, and has not played since the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Borussia Dortmund (April 2), when he was removed from the match in the 79th minute as a result of the latter ailment.

The Spanish club has won three of its last four games without the 29-year-old in the lineup, including a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.

Ronaldo's 14 goals lead all Champions League scorers, despite the fact that he has only played eight matches in the competition this season.

With fellow wingers Gareth Bale and Angel Di Maria in exceptional form at the moment, the addition of (arguably) the world's best player would make Madrid a frightening prospect for Bayern manager Pep Guardiola.
