Josh Freeman is now off the market, as Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports 1 reports that the former Minnesota Vikings quarterback has agreed to terms on a deal with the New York Giants.

According to multiple reports, the deal is for one year.

Freeman was reportedly expected to work out for the Giants on Tuesday along with quarterback Matt Flynn, who was re-signed by the Green Bay Packers before his scheduled visit.

With Eli Manning expected to miss at least six weeks following ankle surgery, the Giants are looking to add depth at the quarterback position. Freeman will compete with 2013 fourth-round pick Ryan Nassib and Curtis Painter for the backup job.

Freeman is coming off a disappointing 2013 campaign in which he was benched, and subsequently released, by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in favor of Mike Glennon.

The 26-year-old later signed with the Vikings, but made just one start for the team - which, coincidentally, came against the Giants - completing just 20-of-53 passes for 190 yards and an interception.
