The San Antonio Spurs dealt a blow to the Dallas Mavericks' playoff hopes with a win at the American Airlines Center on Thursday, claiming a 109-100 decision.

Patty Mills stepped up for the Spurs in a big way as he filled Tony Parker's spot in the starting lineup. Mills led all scorers with 26 points, chipping in six assists and two steals. Kawhi added 16 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Tim Duncan gave those in attendance and Spurs fans worldwide a scare after landing awkwardly and appearing to hyperextend his right knee in the first half. Duncan left for the training room but would return to finish the game with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Mavericks guard Monta Ellis paced his side in scoring with 24 points, while Dirk Nowitzki scored 19.

With the loss, Dallas drops from seventh to eighth in the West, and leaves the door open for Memphis to tie them in the standings with wins in their final four games.
