The agent for Philadelphia 76ers guard Tony Wroten said his client was misquoted and did not receive an apology from Michael Jordan after his Air Jordan sneaker fell apart against the Indiana Pacers on March 14.
Wroten was quoted by the Delaware News Journal as saying that Jordan had called his agent, Greg Lawrence, to apologize after the incident.
Estee Portnoy, a spokesperson for Jordan, also denied the apology.
"Tony told me that the media asked him if he thought Jordan would apologize and he answered, 'He can call my agent,'" Lawrence told ESPN.com, adding that while Wroten is compensated by Nike, he is not a Jordan endorser.
