No penalty was assessed on the play.

After the game, Harrington reported that Stewart was limping and his right ankle was wrapped, and head coach Ted Nolan said the forward is doubtful for Friday's game against the Florida Panthers.

Sabres' Chris Stewart will play Tuesday vs. Red Wings

by Apr 8, 5:53 PM

Buffalo Sabres head coach Ted Nolan was all but convinced Chris Stewart would be done for the season in March due to an ankle injury.

The forward has pressed on and made a recovery getting himself into the lineup Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

Stewart told Bill Hoppe, "I wasn’t really willing to accept my season to be done in the beginning of March considering that’s going to be a long offseason." Stewart arrived in Buffalo via trade on February 28th and will play his third game as a Sabre Tuesday.

The Sabres have three games remaining.

Buffalo Sabres interim head coach Ted Nolan has updated the status of injured forward Chris Stewart, and it appears as though he's likely done for the season.

"Stewart doesn't look very good right now," Nolan told NHL.com. "There's only about five weeks left in the year [and] I think his injury is about 4-5 weeks. I'm quite sure we probably won't see him the rest of the year."

The 26-year old saw a total of 34:05 of ice time in two games for the Sabres after being acquired from the Blues, registering zero points and two shots on goal.
