Russia's men's hockey team will finish the 2014 Winter Olympics without a medal following its 3-1 loss to Finland in Wednesday's quarterfinal game. It's a crushing blow, especially considering the pressure on the Russians to win it all on home ice in Sochi. 

There's no simple explanation for Russia's disappointing showing.
