Radko Gudas battling fever, out Wednesday vs. Sweden
Czech Republic and Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Radko Gudas has fallen ill and is unlikely to play for the Czech team in their Olympic opener against Sweden on Wednesday evening.
NHL.com.pl's Micha Radzicki reported that Gudas has a fever, and Czech head coach Alois Hadamczik told media that Gudas was battling a high temperature and a sore throat and that the hard-nosed, well-bearded defender was not doing well.
It seems very unlikely that Gudas will be available to play on Wednesday.
UPDATE:
Gudas has been confirmed as a scratch on Wednesday due to illness.
