Stamkos to have final X-ray after Tuesday's game

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos will have his final X-ray before the Olympic break that will decide if he goes to Sochi with Team Canada.

Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times reports Stamkos came out of puck battle drills with a smile on his face experiencing no pain. "I can't see anything being a problem. I just want to get the clearance and hear everything is okay. I'm just looking forward to hearing the good news and getting ready for a game," Stamkos said Tuesday.

Teammate Ryan Malone took part in testing Stamkos along the boards and said he may have taken it a little easy on him, but he feels he's ready. "You can still see the explosion he has in his legs."

Stamkos still plans to make his return to the Lightning's lineup on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings.
