Agent for Auburn RB Tre Mason: 'We'd love to get him in that first round'

by Feb 1, 7:43 PM

Former Auburn running back Tre Mason has selected Bus Cook as his agent ahead of the NFL Draft, partly because they share a common goal.

"We'd love to get him in that first round," Cook said via al.com. "That's where our goal is to be. At the end of the day I think he's every bit as good as any other 'back in the country."

Taking running backs in the first round has become a tabooed practice in recent years, but most mock drafts have Mason as the best at his position alongside Arizona's Ka'Deem Carey.

The NFL Draft Advisory Board gave Mason a projected third-round grade back in December.

Mason rushed for a school-record 1,816 yards and 23 touchdowns last season.
