Blackhawks head coach Quenneville says G Crawford 'not that far away' from return

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford hasn't played since he sustained a lower-body injury in a game against the Florida Panthers on December 8th. The Blackhawks have continued their winning ways in Crawford's absence, amassing an impressive 7-1-2 record since their starter went down with injury.

Crawford's imminent return promises to make the defending Stanley Cup champions even more formidable.

"We'll see how he comes in after the break," Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville told the Chicago Tribune on Sunday. "We’ll expect him in practice during that next week."

Continued Quenneville: "He's not that far away. But you need some practice, you need some real pace and shots. Let's have a little more exertion than getting out there before (practice). You still haven't seen live bodies and pucks moving."
