Stars D Sergei Gonchar experiencing concussion like symptoms

Dallas Stars defenseman Sergei Gonchar, who left Saturday night's game between the Stars and the San Jose Sharks after being struck in the face by a puck, is experiencing concussion-like symptoms. According to Stars general manager Jim Nill, Gonchar will be out of the lineup when the Stars visit the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.

This is a tough break for a Stars blue-line group that has already been depleted by injuries to veteran defenders Trevory Daley and Stephane Robidas. Despite the loss of Gonchar, the team won't be calling up former first round pick Jamie Oleksiak from their American Hockey League Affiliate. 

Gonchar's spot, rather, will be filled by recently signed free-agent defenseman Maxime Fortunus. Fortunus will meet the club in Los Angeles and dress on Monday night when the Stars face the Kings.
